The Hermit and the Pilgrim

“Open to the universe, you are the universe.
Closed to the universe, you are nothing, nowhere,”
said the hermit in the cave.
“Is that all I get?” asked the pilgrim.
“What do you expect from an old man
who lives alone in the wilderness?”
said the hermit. “Wisdom?”
“Very well,” said the pilgrim.
“I suppose it is something.”
He then made his way back down the mountain.
